“With more than 15 million iPads sold, iPad has defined an entirely new category of mobile devices,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “While others have been scrambling to copy the first generation iPad, we’re launching iPad 2, which moves the bar far ahead of the competition and will likely cause them to go back to the drawing boards yet again.”
With the new front and rear cameras, iPad 2 users can now make FaceTime calls to millions of iPhone® 4, iPod touch® and Mac® users so they can see family and friends anywhere there is Wi-Fi. Photo Booth lets you apply fun visual effects, including eight photo special effects like Squeeze, Twirl and Kaleidoscope, to photos captured by either camera.

Bon Jovi have been named the highest grossing touring act of 2010.
The 'It's My Life' rockers top research by industry magazine Billboard's Boxscore, which calculates the rockers grossed $146,507,388 from 69 sell out shows.
The group, led by Jon Bon Jovi, beat U2, who came second, grossing $131,502,369 and AC/DC, who came third, taking an estimated $122,633,027.
Part of the Bon Jovi's touring in 2010 saw them sell out a 12-night residency at London's 02 Arena, and at the time guitarist Richie Sambora spoke of the band's elation to still be playing such big arenas almost 30 years into their career.
He said: "It feels great! We're still selling out stadiums for god's sakes!
"We just opened up the new Meadowlands stadium in New York - but it feels great to be here in London. This thing is not stopping. We're having so much fun."
Bon Jovi's 2008 'Lost Highway Tour' was also named that year's highest grossing by Billboard.
The hardest touring act on the list is Lady Gaga, who has performed an estimated 122 shows this year, grossing $116,227,987, and selling out 101 of them.
Meanwhile relative newcomer to the list, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber grossed an estimated $35,600,276 from his 62 shows this year, putting him in 19th place.
John Lennon remembered 30 years on
Written by Philip Thursday, 09 December 2010 12:17
John Lennon said he didn't want to become a "dead hero" three days before his death.
The singer, songwriter and peace activist said how he had no desire to die before his time on December 5 1980, three days before he was assassinated by a crazed fan outside his home in New York, 30 years ago today (08.12.10).
Speaking out against fans and those who criticised him for taking a five year break from music in his last print interview, John told Rolling Stone magazine: "What they want is dead heroes, like Sid Vicious and James Dean. I'm not interested in being a dead f***ing hero. So forget 'em, forget 'em."
Sid Vicious was the bassist in punk band The Sex Pistols, who died of a heroin overdose aged 21, while James Dean was a promising film star who died in a car crash aged 24.
Former The Beatles star John had released his musical comeback, 'Double Fantasy' earlier in 1980 and also said in the interview he was hoping to return to live performance.
He said: "We just might do it. But there will be no smoke bombs, no lipstick, no flashing lights. It just has to be comfy. But we could have a laugh. We're born-again rockers, and we're starting over - There's plenty of time, right? Plenty of time."

Apple media event - MacBook laptop, New OSX Lion, iLife 2010

Engadget reports that Apple has issued invitations for a special media event to be held next Wednesday, October 20th at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. The invitation for the event, which is to be held at the company's campus in Cupertino, California, carries the tagline "Back to the Mac".
The invitation also contains an image of what appears to be a lion peeking out from behind the Apple logo, hinting at discussion of Mac OS X 10.7. "Lion" has been one of the most commonly-suggested "big cat" names for the next-generation operating system.
Much of Apple's notebook line with the exception of the entry-level MacBook is due for a refresh, and Apple has refreshed at least a portion of its notebook line each October or November for the last several years. Apple's desktop offerings have all been updated relatively recently, suggesting that the company's media event may focus on notebooks if new hardware is included on the agenda.
